Why Would TN Democrats Select Johnson?

Gloria Johnson ran for re-election (unsuccessfully I might add) without embracing the Democrat label. Read this story about her four page mailer. She did not endorse, campaign or even mention Democrat Gordon Ball’s United State Senate challenge to Republican and re-elected United States Senator Lamar Alexander. She did not endorse, campaign or even mention Democrat Charlie Brown’s Gubernatorial challenge to Republican and re-elected TN Governor Bill Haslam.

When the Democrats had their Knoxville are Truman Day Dinner as was reported here on 10/6/2014 from an area Democrat club meeting, Johnson along with Knox County Democrat Chair Linda Haney apparently refused to allow the TN Democrat Chairman Roy Herron to speak although he desired and even requested to speak.

Of course Gloria and her State Legislature pal Craig Fitzhugh put out a press release complaining about me. You can read their attack here which also includes my response.

Why the Democrat State Executive Committee (after being vetted by Bill Freeman) select Gloria Johnson for TN Democrat Chair. If she can not successfully win re-election after only two years of service as State Representative in a state house district that she won two years before, why select her as a State Chair that compensates $100,000.00 a year. But then again, it may be the dollars and she has not revealed if she would keep her teaching position with Knox County Schools and be state chair as well.

Because they have a death wish?

I’m only half kidding. Old line Democrats were practical. The current crop feels lost, a bunch of aging hippies out of touch with reality and ordinary citizens. I’ve voted Democrat (Fansler for example) when they had a quality candidate, but Johnson is another Wasserman-Schultz whose only “virtue” (if you can count it as such) is she’s female. (Note to the hippies: Gender alone isn’t good enough for real people.)

As a Republican, you should be pleased.
