Inside TN and TN This Week Observations

This morning, WBIR’s Inside TN was interesting. The guests were State Senator Richard “Rick” Briggs, State Representative Eddie Smith and School Board Member Tracie Sanger. The best part was when “Rick” talked about “TN Promise”, I really wish someone had asked him isn’t TN Promise the Norris/Campfield bill?  Interesting that Briggs does not desire to serve on any health committees in the Senate. Briggs when asked to present specific business reforms, he couldn’t cite any.  He mentioned businesses begging to build in the Midway Business Park at Exit 402 in East Knox County. Mike Donia reminded him that he has resigned County Commission. Briggs just doesn’t seem ready or coherent of what the State Senate does or doesn’t do.  Smith and Sanger both were impressive about what their respective jobs entail.

This afternoon on WATE’s Tennessee This Week on the pundit panel, Democrat Cortney Piper sure changed her tune on Tracie Sanger. Prior to the election, Piper disclosed her support of Gloria Johnson and her familiarity with Jamie Rowe. Chadwick B. Tindell was a vigerous defender of the Knox County Schools, Tindell who in the past few months became unmarried has been identified in a FB status as being romantically involved with a top school official.

The funniest part was when the panel were discussing the credit card controversy of the schools and Tindell made a reference that the cards are supposed to make it easier and more convenient and then vaguely mentioned previous misadministration of card programs. Which was probably a reference to the previous County Mayoral administration, which Tindell was a constant critic. How about the CTAS program? It is a program that was established for good. Then a certain lawyer on a Trustee staff didn’t advise his client correctly and boom.
