Ryan Haynes Bids Farewell to his Legislative Career, Now the Contenders Will Begin

Sources close to State Representative and TN Republican Party Chairman Ryan Haynes indicate that tomorrow is the day that Haynes will step out of the legislature. A special election will occur in late Summer.

Second District Congressman John J. Duncan, Jr.‘s 2014 opponent listed his house for sale by owner on May 7, 2015 on his Facebook page for $244,900 in the 89th State House District. Today, the house is listed on the Knox Area Association of Realtors MLS page with an agent associated with Realty Executives. The house is listed at $239,900, lower the house $5,000 in less than 20 days. The home was purchased 10 years ago (2005) for $187,140. In 2011 and 2012 the Knox County Property Assessors Office had the home and land appraised at $196,600 in 2013 the home was appraised at $160,600 and the land for $37,500, totaling the appraisal at $198,100.

According to Former Knoxville Mayor Victor Ashe’s weekly column last week, the Congressman’s opponent has purchased a home in the 14th State House District. Yeah he is a carpetbagger, apparently. He will uproot his family for another district to be an elected official anywhere. Not so quick there, Jason! In the brief time Congressman Duncan’s 2014 opponent lived in the 14th district, (about 4 years ago) the opportunist NEVER cast a vote in the 14th house district primary or general election.

Most any Candidate Other Than Congressman Duncan’s 2014 Opponent

Lou Moran III a longtime insurance executive has enjoyed wide support early. Commercial Realtor John Griess has been fielding phone calls asking him to run for the position. Once the vacancy occurs, other candidates will emerge.
