Well Duh!

Knox County School Board Members last night in work session were alleging politics were at play in the MOU (Memorandum of Understanding) that is the schools budget from the County Mayor and County Commission.

Let’s see the School Board Chairman spent 14 years on Commission and now almost 5 on School Board, yeah 19 years is political.

The County Mayor has been on a government tit his entire adult life. First, a failed mulching contract with the city, which I am not considering. In 1994 he was elected and served four years in the TN House, then was elected and served 12 years as a State Senator. So, 16 years in state government and he is still today on the state insurance tit. In 2010, he was elected to County Mayor and when that tit ends on August 31, 2018. He will have been on that tit for 8 years. So, that gets him to 24 years on a governmention tit. The worst kept secret is his plans to challenge Congressman John J. Duncan, Jr. in 2016 or 2018 (for sure when the County Mayor gig is up) He had been traveling around attending functions in other counties in the Second Congressional District (sometimes during his work day as County Mayor, when he is being paid to be doing Mayoring)

Gloria Deathridge nailed it last night, part of why Gibbs was moved to Holston back in the early to mid 1990’s was part of a county desegregation plan. This proposal appears to be segregating the race population again.

If that’s how Timothy Floyd Burchett wants to roll, so be it.
