Boomsday 2015 Schedule Announced

Visit Knoxville will present the 28th edition of Boomsday on Sunday, September 6 at Volunteer Landing along the Tennessee River.

“We’re working daily on creating a weekend of events that will culminate with the Boomsday festivities our community looks forward to seeing each year,” stated Kim Bumpas, president of Visit Knoxville.

Boomsday 2015 will kick off at 3:00pm with live music, games, food vendors and more. The evening will wrap up with more than 5 tons of dynamite lighting the sky to a soundtrack featuring your favorite music.

Boomsday will wrap up a Labor Day weekend featuring the following events, all FREE to the public:

Friday, September 4

2015 Knoxville Powerboat Classic
WHERE: Volunteer Landing, Tennessee River
WHEN: 10:30am-noon testing / 1:00-5:00pm races

Tennessee Soccer vs Navy
WHERE: UT’s Regal Soccer Stadium
WHEN: 7:00pm

Saturday, September 5

2015 National Fallen Firefighters Foundation Knoxville Memorial Stair Climb
WHERE: Sunsphere at World’s Fair Park
WHEN: 9:00am

2015 Knoxville Powerboat Classic
WHERE: Volunteer Landing, Tennessee River
WHEN: 11:00am-noon testing / 1:00-5:00pm races

Sunday, September 6   

Tennessee Soccer vs Murray State
WHERE: UT’s Regal Soccer Stadium
WHEN: 6:30pm

Boomsday 2015
WHERE: Volunteer Landing, Neyland Drive
WHEN: Festivities including family-friendly entertainment and food vendors begin at 3pm. Live Music on the Q100.3 Main Stage is presented by Xfinity and Ingles. Artists to be announced. Fireworks begin at 9:30pm with music provided by Star 102.1. WTNZ powered by WBIR Channel 10 will air the event live on TV.
