Happy Birthday to Us

Eleven years ago today, I posted the first item, thus creating this website. I had no idea that 11 years later that I would still be doing this and that so many of you would be reading it. I have a truly Blessed life and and thankful for the Blessing, I have received in each and every one of you.

I realize that there are those folks that enjoy and look forward to each post and others that do not. For all of you that keep coming back, Thank You, Thank You, Thank you.

It was not intentional back 11 years ago, but on this date in 1974, President Richard Milhous Nixon resigned the Presidency. In his address from the Oval Office he said,

“Sometimes I have succeeded and sometimes I have failed, but always I have taken heart from what Theodore Roosevelt once said about the man in the arena, “whose face is marred by dust and sweat and blood, who strives valiantly, who errs and comes up short again and again because there is not effort without error and shortcoming, but who does actually strive to do the deed, who knows the great enthusiasms, the great devotions, who spends himself in a worthy cause, who at the best knows in the end the triumphs of high achievements and who at the worst, if he fails, at least fails while daring greatly”

The quote of Nixon that I have remembered and try to always live my life by was one that he left as advice to his White House staff as he, Pat and the girls left the White House. Always remember others may hate you, but they only win if you hate they back. Then you destroy yourself.
