Knox Co. Law Director Campaign Finance Disclosures Released Today

Candidates are listed in alphabetical order and all finance activity through January 15, 2016.

Richard “Bud” Armstrong balance last report $4,289.05, raised $50,589.90, spent $10,211.35 with $44,676.60 on hand. With a $32,245.00 loan on file from his previous campaign where he lost the County Commissioner at large race to Ed Shouse.

Notable contributors are $1,400 from John Mills lobbyist for Priority Ambulance and $250 from Rural Metro Employee PAC, the ambulance contract is a contract with Knox County and the Law Director accepting money from either or any company under contract or proposing services could appear unethical.

Contributions from employees and direct families of the Law Department total $7,200, In addition contributions from politico’s Billy Stokes (failed State Senate, failed Circuit Court Judge candidate) gave $1,500, Property Assessor Phil Ballard (who is reported to be under IRS Criminal Task Force investigation) gave $400; interesting that the disclosure states that Ballard is Knox County Trustee (not accurate) The report also identifies Ballard’s home address as 5508 Corn Silk Drive an address registered to a Ronald A and Kristie S Hees according to the kgis website. Former Criminal Court Clerk Joy McCroskey gave $500, just google Knox County Joy McCroskey.

Bounds, husband to Patty Lou Bounds gave $100, Third District Candidate School Boarder Rex A., Norman $100, the KCEA’s (teachers labor union) KC-PACE (political committee) Chair Sherry Jean Morgan gave $200

Commission Chairman Dave Wright gave $100, Vice Chair Bob Thomas gave $100, Ninth District Commissioner Michael Brown gave $100, Seventh District Commissioner Charles Busler gave $500, At Large Commissioner Paul Brantley gave $100 twice for a combined amount of $200, Former Seventh District Commissioner Robert Lawrence Smith gave $100 Ninth District Candidate Carson Dailey gave $200,  Second District Candidate John Fugate gave $100 twice for a combined $200 contribution.

Knox County Mayor Timothy Floyd Burchett gave $100 out of his campaign fund, his direct reports Mark Jones gave a combined contribution of $350, H.R. Director (post hole toby’s boy) Richard Julian gave a combined contribution of $300, IT Director Richard Moran gave $100 and Knox County Finance Director Chris Caldwell gave $100.

Likely 2018 Knox County Sheriff Candidate Charles T. Spangler gave $100 and 2014 Failed Knox County Sheriff Candidate Robert Waggoner gave $100 State Representative Roger Kane gave $150 and his protege Interim State Representative Jason Zachary gave $150

Knoxville Public Relations Consultant and sometime media panelist Michael Cohen gave $100.

Nathan Rowell, raised $66,420.00, spent $7,179.53 for a balance on hand of $59,240.47 There is a loan of $7,000 and an obligaation of $10,100.00 Rowell enjoys the support of 116 contributors that gave to his campaign.

Notable Contributors, Karen Carson for State House gave $500, School Board Chairman Doug Harris and his wife Carla each gave $1,500 each. Mr. James and Natalie Haslam each gave $1,500, Mr. Randal and Mrs. Jenny Boyd each gave $1,500, Mr. Raja Jubran gave $500, Mr. James Clayton gave $1,500 for the Primary election and $1,500 for the General election and Mr. Kevin Clayton gave $1,000
