Board Member Raises the Issue, is Law Director Insubordinate to the School Board?

On January 6, 2016 the Knox Co. School Board asked for an opinion of the Knox Co. Law Director, two weeks ago the law director said it would be delivered by mid month (February 18, 2016) Tonight, David Buuck showed up and said it isn’t ready. They have had four attorneys looking at it and a fifth attorney. That is 50% of the attorneys in the current law department hierarchy.

Vice Chair Tracie Sanger pointed out that Armstrong said he would be attend all the school board meeting. Since the January 6, 2016 meeting Armstrong has been a no show at the board meetings.

David Buuck kept saying, “it’s a very complex issue.”  Buuck also said about Armstrong, “I don’t know why he isn’t here, I was instructed to be here, for years he (Armstrong) never sat here, David Sanders sat here.” Buuck did go into great detail about how Nathan Rowell‘s law firm was involved in the 2003 litigation, 2003 was about three years before Armstrong took the bar exam.

Sanger pointed out that his inaction and failure to inform the board could be perceived to be insubordinate.
