Foster Arnett – Doesn’t Cooperate with Others

UPDATE: Saturday 4/16/2016 12:01 p.m. I received an email at 11:30 a.m. from Arnett that says “We DID participate in the Second Annual Blue and Green Day for Tennessee Organ Donation yesterday, March 15, 2016.”

The material fact used as my source in my blog entry was a press release that DID NOT list Knox Co as a participating county. I have offered to provide the press release to Arnett.

Original Post: Today a press release was sent out by the TN County Clerk’s Association drawing attention to organ donation. The Knox Co Ckerk did not participate according to the County Clerk’s Association.

MEDIA ADVISORY

COUNTY CLERKS’ OFFICES GO BLUE & GREEN ON APRIL 15

TO SUPPORT ORGAN & TISSUE DONATION

Annual competition includes costumes, balloons, decorations

WHAT:           County clerks’ staffs across Tennessee will dress in blue and green on Friday, April 15, for National Donate Life Blue & Green Day, designed to raise awareness of the importance of organ and tissue donation.  They’ll also participate in an online photo competition to see whose team shows the most spirit and enthusiasm, posting on Facebook and tweeting#BlueandGreenDay16 #DonateLifeTN.

More than 121,000 people nationwide are waiting for a life-saving transplant including more than 2,500 Tennesseans. Unfortunately, the number of people in need continues to outpace the number of donors and, on average,22 people die every day in the U.S. while waiting.

By simply asking, “Would you like to donate $1 toward organ and tissue donation awareness?” when renewing vehicle tags, Tennessee County Clerks have raised over 4 million dollars for the Tennessee Organ Donation Foundation to support education across the state.

To register to be a donoror specify gift, Tennesseans can simply check “yes” when applying for or renewing their driver’s license, or go towww.donatelifetn.org.

WHO:             Participating county clerks’ offices include: Loudon, Roane, Cumberland, Hamblen, Cocke, Davidson (all offices), Macon, Montgomery, Robertson, Sumner, Wilson (main office), Bedford, Polk, Marion, Gibson, Dickson, Houston, McNairy, Weakley, Bradley and more.

 WHEN:           Friday, April 15, 2016

WHERE:         Participating county clerks’ offices statewide
