Whose ‘gal pal’ Network?

A Fountain City weekly newspaper publisher column this week discusses what he calls a ‘good ole girl’ network. The interesting part of the column is the name the publisher referred to Second District School Board candidate. Her name is Jennifer Owen, never have I heard her called anything other than Jennifer Owen. However, the publisher shortened her name to “Jen” a shortened version of her name which is the norm for family and close friends. So is Owen, Patti Bounds, Amber Rountree attempting to create their own ‘good ole gal’ network and how is the publisher in the mix?

I would encourage you to watch this meeting and see if the publisher’s report that Board Member “Sanger whined and cried (literally)”. My recollection is that her voice cracked but literally crying? Don’t take the publisher’s word or my word, you decide for yourself. You should fact check all media, including this website. This website has stood the test of a 2013 lawsuit challenging our sources and reporting.

While your accuracy is well worth taking pride in….your blog is an opinion based blog not a newspaper which is bound to stiffer journalistic standards than an opinion blog. You may editorialize just as Bill O’Reilly does including your opinions of statements, philosophies or political rhetoric. So don’t let these folks censor you from exercising your editorial privilege Brian! One reason people look here every day is to get the scoop on information which the KNS either won’t print or can’t because they can’t obtain credible sources to go on the record. I know you do get your sources and you protected your sources when you were sued but you won on a summary judgement as you should have…..the judge should have made the plaintiff pay your legal bills! Anyway….don’t back up on your blog’s freedom of speech rights!
