Is the Mayor’s Property still operating without all licenses? If so, Why?

Last May a business began operating on property owned by Mayor Burdchett. In October we reported that it was operating without sign permits and certificate of occupancy. In December, the County apparently gave them permits. About a month ago I requested of the County Clerk’s office for a business permit for any business operating on the property. When Foster Arnett fulfilled the Open Records Request, there is no business permit on file. So no local taxes are being collected for the items sold (new or used).

Additionally, food has been served there and according to an email from the Knox Co Health Dept inquiry no proper records were on file. Why does Mayor Burdchett continue to have a tenant that ignores simple business requirements? What will the county do when all properties begin operating resell businesses without proper permitting and licenses?
