The Legislature Failed to Protect ALL Kids

Back in 2007, State Senator Jamie Woodson passed legislation to protect all students in TN. The bill requires all contractors, sub contractors to pass background checks. If as a parent you are paying alot of money to send your child to a private school and the school has expansion or construction going on, do you know if the construction workers have passed a background check. Senator Woodson and the legislature in 2007 intended they would.

Last week, an Attorney with the TBI responded to a friend of BrianHornback.Com and has opined this law ONLY pertains to public school districts. So you parents of private school children are hereby warned.

Leave it to the legislature NOT to make it clear in the legislative intent to the state agency how to interpret and enforce the legislation.
