Welcome Buddy Pelot for Schools for the Knox Co August 4th General Election

We are pleased to welcome Buddy Pelot to BrianHornback.Com for the August 4, Knox County General Election. Pelot finished the March 1st Knox County Fifth District School Board Primary and now faces a General election opponent on August 4, 2016. Early Voting is July 15-30, 2016.

Pelot is a Knoxville native, he is a proud product of the Knox County School system which prepared him for his bachelors at UTK, a Masters of Education at Vanderbilt’s Institute for Public Policy Studies and a law degree from UTK. He and his wife have three children that all are products of the Knox County School system. One daughter has graduated from UTK, another attending UTK and the youngest is a freshman in high school.

The Pelot’s (husband and wife) team have invested many hours volunteering in the Knox County Schools system working with teachers, coaches, administrators and concerned parents. The schools in the fifth district are some of the best in the State of Tennessee and it is imperative that the board member be the most qualified, educated and experienced to continue Knox County in a direction moving to excellence for all students. It is no secret that the Knox County School Board has had tumultuous times and often very contentious working with one another.

With a new Superintendent taking over June 15, 2016 and the current Superintendent leaving July 8, 2016 it is imperative to bring a board member on that possesses broad educational, real world experience and proven problem-solving skills to lead the school system in the best and right direction.

The Fifth District needs a representative that will listen to ALL the constituents – parents, students, teachers and administrators. A representative that is willing to work to find the best solutions while serving the Board’s mission to advocate excellence for all children in Knox County.
