Allen’s talk was primarily about Knox County’s opioid epidemic. In 2015 there were 170 over dose deaths. But in 2016 there were 237 over dose deaths.

In 2016, there were 94 babies born NAS, in Shelby County only 4, in Chattanooga 17 and Nashville 58. There are 700-750 kids in state custody and all but 25 are negligent and abandoned.
