It Appears State Rep. Jason Zachary is Violating TN Law

The TN State Legislature gaveled into session on January 10, 2017. TN law forbids members of the legislature from soliciting and receiving campaign contributions while in session. When you go to State Representative Jason Zachary‘s website today 1/22/2017 on the front page are two donate buttons.

Top of the website is a donate button that has several options, up to $2,600

I went through the process of making a $5 donation on Sunday January 22, 2017 and got to submitting my payment and realized that 1) my financial card number may be retrievable and 2) that because I KNOW the law,  if I made a $5 contribution, I would knowingly be violating a TN law and I am choosing to not be in violation of a law.

The screenshot below shows that on 1/22/2017 the Zachary campaign is currently accepting Visa, MasterCard and Discover.
