Jack McElroy Uses the Farragut Suicides to Attack Guns NOT The Lazy Bureaucrats

Jack McElroy, Editor of the Big Metal Shed on the Hill has an op-ed about guns and an attempt at shaming guns because the three recent suicides at Farragut High used guns. How about the deaths by drug overdoses? the deaths by alcohol poisoning? How about the deaths by hanging? Are we going to outlaw rope, sheets, belts? How about deaths by drowning? Are we going to outlaw bath tubs or lakes? How about deaths by carbon monoxide? Are we going to outlaw cars or motors that operate on gasoline?

How about opinion writing something productive for a hurting Farragut community and address depression and adolescent stress not the instrument that the last three used?

He does say ignoring the issue is not helpful. Well, we can agree on that. Now, why did it take three students to die before the Knox County Schools and School Board decided to do something? Write about that, Jack!
