Sheriff Candidates have Competing Events on Tuesday

On Tuesday Knox County Sheriff Chief Lee Tramel will officially kick off his campaign for Sheriff with an event at Lakeside Tavern Concord Marina. Tramel does not list a contribution amount on the invitations that were received a couple weeks ago.

Former Knox County Sheriff Chief Tom Spangler who kicked off his campaign several weeks ago with an announcement in front of the Old Knox County Courthouse sent out invitations for an event at Southeast Bank in Farragut on the same day, same time. Spangler’s event ask for a $50 contribution, but it is not mandatory.

Both Tramel and Spangler are running as Republicans. With the Republican Primary on May 1, 2018.

No word on if the KnoxDems can find a qualified candidate (any candidate for Sheriff must be POST Commission certified) to oppose the May 1st winner in the General Election on August 2, 2018. The winner of both the May & August elections will take office on September 1, 2018.
