Sixty Five plus or minus one or two attended the Hubert Smith Motley Crew lunch. I attended in July and then again today. The lunch is the first Friday of every month and is at the Crowne Plaza in Downtown Knoxville.
Five of the winners from Tuesday’s City of Knoxville Primary Election attended, They were from the First District Stephanie Welch, Third District Seema Singh Perez, Fourth District Lauren Rider and Amelia Parker (who tied for second with Harry Tindell) Sixth District Gwen McKenzie and Jennifer Montgomery.
Sixth District City Council Primary candidate Damon Rawls also attended. As did 2018 candidates Ed Shouse for Knox County Trustee, Nick McBride for Register of Deeds, Justin Biggs for Knox County Commission at Large and Dametraus Jaggers for Knox County School Board District One.
When I hear Motley Crew lunch, it takes my mind back to the rock band Motley Crue.
