Christensen Proposes Plan to Build or Repair Sidewalks in Every City District

KNOXVILLE, TENN, Sept. 6, 2017 – Wayne Christensen, after his impressive showing in the August 29th District 2 race, has now taken his city-wide message to the voters of the City of Knoxville by proposing a plan that builds and repairs sidewalks in each of the city’s six districts.

“As I go door to door to meet the citizens of this city, it is evident that sidewalks, and in some cases, our overall infrastructure has become a low priority for the city,” Christensen said. “I think we must change that.”

Christensen’s plan would build or repair three miles of sidewalks in each of our city districts each year, totaling 18 miles a year. The program would be modeled after the city’s current program that paves forty miles of city pavement each year.

Christensen concluded, “These sidewalks are needed for safety, especially around our elementary schools, as well as promoting healthy outlets for our children, improving our economy, and improving our infrastructure. “
