2018 is Off to As Good a Start as 2017 in Cleaning Up Knox County

On Thursday January 11, 2018 WATE reported this story about our Knox County District Attorney Charme Allen shutting down a nuisance  nightclub.

So 2018 is starting as GREAT as 2017 with cooperation by Knox County Sheriffs Office, Knoxville Police Department, Knox County District Attorney General, TBI, FBI, ATF, IRS and all other agencies. A pawn shop (Big Orange) that allegedly was ordering stolen goods, buying them for pennies on the dollar and then selling them to the public was shut down. Several agencies are working on the charges and forfeitures for the suspects.

A used tire store was raided for alleged similar activity and a restaurant in South Knoxville was raided for similar activity and a North Knoxville restaurant was raided for allegedly buying SNAP benefits for cents on the dollar. Additionally, it has been discovered through open records request that a Knox County Patrol Officer (who has since resigned his position) was suspended for several days for failing to appear in court for tickets issued. In the documents reviewed and obtained it is recorded that the emails had not been accessed by the officer since 2014, no documented defense was presented to KCSO according to the records inspection, other than the officers hearsay.
