Kristi Kristy – Of South Knox, In South Knox, By South Knox

On May 1, 2018 (Early Voting April 11-26, 2018) South Knox County has a choice. They can stay the course with a four year incumbent for another four years, or they can elect one of their own in Kristi Kristy. Kristy has been involved in South Knox County, she and her husband raised triplets, all three graduate last May from Knox County Schools, South Doyle High School. She has been active for years with Bonny Kate Elementary School, South Doyle Middle and High and now she is offering South Knox County the opportunity to have her represent and advocate for South Knox on the nine member Knox County School Board.

Whether it was advocating to Knox County and Knox County Schools about unsafe roadway for walkers near South Doyle High School. Advocating for the same school amenities for South Knox County that the other schools and school districts have. Kristy has been there, done that.

Kristy is an advocate for expanding Career Technical Education at South Doyle High. Kristy will focus on all students not just Kindergarten through Third grade. She advocates for all children at all ages and stages of their education. Technology at South Doyle High School needs to be addressed, there isn’t a replacement plan on the MacBooks or even the chargers that power them.

Knox County Schools is good at having stake holder meetings, Kristy was there 5 years ago and this year. Many of the things the stakeholders agreed to five years ago were never included and now the cycle continues, Kristy has and will be there. Knox County Schools have many things they start but stop, the TAP program, the Leadership Academy to name two.

With Kristy on the school board, she will bring diversity to the board. As a parent, whose three children have just completed Knox County Schools. She will bring the active, engaged parent perspective. She is not part of any special interest group. So, South Knox County nows the time for choosing. You can follow her on Twitter, here or Facebook, here.

I have sent a message to the incumbent to meet with them as well. We will see if the incumbent wants to communicate about the past four years and the vision for four more.
