Knox County Clerk Foster Arnett, His Car and OUR Tax Dollars

On November 13, 2017 here we were the first to tell you about a car accident between an employee of Knox County Purchasing driving a Knox County owned 1992 Ford Crown Victoria and the personal car of Knox County Clerk Foster Arnett.

We have obtained the file from risk management. The entire incident is a he said, he said. Arnett contends his car was hit, the employee does NOT believe he hit Arnett’s car.  On that day, the driver apparently failed a field sobriety test and was arrested for DUI. I am told (not confirmed) that the charges were lessened or dropped due to medication that the individual was taking.

According to the statements in the file, If an accident occurred it likely happened because a cone was placed in the path of where the individual normally parked and to avoid the cone he had to maneuver closer to Arnett’s car.

In typical Knox County fashion, they repaired Arnett’s car (although based on reading the documents in the file, it wasn’t proven the scratch was made by the County’s owned car) Both cars are white, the scratch is black.
