Knox County Can Move With Speed When It’s Necessary for Reasons that We Can ONLY Guess

The Town of Farragut has a Mayor and Alderman election on August 2, a couple of Knox County Commissioners are running for re-election and the Knox County Mayor is running for another office all on August 2. In thirty days, the Town of Farragut and Knox County have purchased a church on Jamestown Boulevard in Farragut for a combined Knox County Senior Center and a Farragut center and offices.

However, the Andrew Johnson Building and relocating the Knox County Schools Central Office has taken months and was postponed ANOTHER 30 days.

Randy Smith asked how much the Senior Center that they will sell is appraised for, Knox County Finance Director Chris Caldwell said they DO NOT have the appraisal back yet. Smith asked where the difference in money from what they sell Strang Senior Center and the cost of the church is coming from, Caldwell said he will tell them next month. AND IT PASSED UNANIMOUSLY……OUR TAX DOLLARS!

Interesting how politics will play in decisions made and votes cast.
