Two of the Key Problems the Democrats Have is a Lack of Unity and Leadership

Before April 1, 2019 the Knox County Republican Party and Knox County Democrat Party must select Chairpersons to lead their respective parties. Both current Chairs are not seeking re-election. Where in my opinion the Knox County and Tennessee Democrat Party has failed is in leadership and party unity. The state party should have forbidden a county chairman from being a paid campaign manager.

Of course Gregg is a State Democrat Executive Committee Member, one of the boss’s of the State Chairman, so the State Chairman is NOT likely to slap one of her EC members hands.

The Knox County Democrat Chair Emily Gregg in addition to being County Chair was the campaign manager for Democrat candidate for Knox County Mayor Linda Haney. A position that paid Gregg money according to Haney’s financial disclosures. This should NEVER be allowed. Simply because it places Haney’s Democrat primary opponent at a disadvantage. Additionally, four (4) Democrat candidates for Knox County Commission and the Democrat candidate Knox County General Sessions, Circuit and Juvenile Court Clerk along with 3 State Representative district had Democrat primaries and Gregg was managing a County Mayor race that on Election Night received 33.62%.

Interesting in the financial documents, Gregg identifies herself as Campaign Manager of Friends of Linda Haney NOT Chair of the Knox County Democrat Party.

On the 10/10/2018 Financial Disclosure, here Gregg was paid $1,250 as reflected on page 5 of 12 and $625.00 as reflected on page 7 of 12.

Gregg’s salary as Campaign Manager was $5,650.00, She was reimbursed $25.74 and contributed in kind to the amount of $31.46

It has been rumored to me that Gregg has moved on to a paid position with the Tennessee Democrat Party. If that rumor is accurate then with the reelection of Mary Mancini as state Democrat Chair, I guess she will still have a job.
