The Glass Castle by Jeannette Walls

I have completed the second of four books on the Farragut High School Summer Reading List. You select one of teh four, I have set out to read all four. Marley & Me was first. The Glass Castle was second and is now completed. The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time is next and finally it is Persepolis.

The Glass Castle is a memoir of Jeanette Walls life. An unusual life by normal standards, if life in a family has a normal standard. Her father had great visions. Her mother had great dreams. The four children lived a life of continual motion. In the end, Jeannette turned out to be successful.

It ain’t where you came from or what you had or didn’t have. It is about the life skills you obtained and your ability to be successful in the end. How do you define success?
