Robert Voigt did file an Appointment of Treasurer this morning, Thursday March 7, 2019. He list his party as Republican.

However, his voting record is sparse at best. He registered to vote in 2015, he voted in the Federal and State General Election of November 2016 and the State and Federal Republican Primary of August 2018 and the State and Federal General in November 2018. He missed the Knox County Primary of May 2018.

The Republican by laws require that you vote in three of the last three Republican primaries and have some financial or time investment in the party to be a bonafide Republican candidate.

Knox County Republican Party Chairman Randy Pace and the Party’s Executive Committee could contact the Knox County Election Commission and have non bonafide Republican candidate withdrawn from the Republican ballot. Then Voigt would be an Independent candidate.

We will see if Pace and the executive Committee begin exercising the muscle that the Republican State Executive Committee gave them in the late Summer/Early Fall of 2017.
