Bud Armstrong at the Concord Farragut Republican Club

Last night, Knox County Law Director Bud Armstrong was the Speaker at the Concord Farragut Republican Club.

Armstrong discussed the Law Director’s office, which he has served as Law Director for 7 years. He is term limited and his term will end on 8/31/2020.

The office handles 800-1,000 contracts a year. There are 328 active cases in litigation. They handle Knox County workers compensation along with Knox County Schools workers compensation (staff and teachers) They represent the Knox County Trustee as the tax Attorney.

They represent all Elected Officials and the County Commission. All the boards and commissions are represented by the Law Director.

There were no questions asked about the UOPP (Uniformed Officers Pension Plan) and the former and now current litigation in the administration of that plan.

There was no question about the controversial move of the Knox County Schools Central Office to the TVA East Tower.

Overall, it was just a glimpse at the Law Director’s job.
