Knox County Ethics Appointments

The Knox County Sheriff must appoint one and the Knox County Commission must appoint two to the Knox County Ethics Committee. There are nine applicants, after reviewing the nine Resumes, I suspect Sheriff Spangler will appoint Elizabeth L. Sherrod as she has Wes Norris as a Reference. Norris serves the Sheriff as head of Internal Affairs.

The others are in alphabetical order.

Virginia Anagnost, Chair of CAC

Perry Beal, an advanced Pilot, Flight Instructor and Small Business Owner

Jason Johansen, a Pastor

Cory Johnson, Incident Manager at Elavon.

Nancy Elizabeth McBee, a Business Development Manager with Trane. She secured the Knox County Energy Management contracts during former Mayor Mike Ragsdale’s term.

Michael W. Singletary, Professor Emeritus Journalism, University of Tennessee, Knoxville.

Tonya Thomas-Coats, Educator and Community Activist.

as for McBee, her Resume states McBee and list her involvement with the Central High School Foundation. When checking the foundation website, it list her as Nancy McBee Nevader. It is just a question for the discrepancy. There could have been a family change, it’s just odd that it hasn’t been changed on the web page where she is Co-President.

In an unrelated kinda twist, the other Co-President of the Central High School Foundation John Meade this week picked up a petition to challenge School Board Member Jennifer Owen in the March 3, 2020 Primary Election.
