Betty Bean taking Liberties with a Story or Two….

Betty Bean has a story about Tony Noman’s departure from Knox County Storm Water and takes some liberties with some assumptions about the narrative. I first reported Norman’s departure on the day he was terminated January 7, 2020 here.

Bean says he was fired the day after appearing on a radio show. I listened to the station (which by the way is no longer offering a local show) regularly. I recall Norman being on the morning show, on December 11, 2019, the day before the candidate qualifying deadline when Randy Pace (so much for Bean’s reference to a “her” as radio show host) had candidate after candidate call in to introduce themselves. Norman was on to discuss the Bible Release Time program that the School Board was debating. The TVA East Tower / AJ Building was smoldering but NOT the burning dumpster fire at that point.

What is most interesting is the Bean admission that former County Mayor Burchett “created” this job for Norman. Was it cronyism that created the job? Also, Bean says that Jacobs fired Roger Kane, in fact Kane resigned the day after the Commission meeting that Bean says he was fired. Read my Breaking News of his February 20, 2019 resignation here.
