Knox County Commissioners Ask NO Question and Mayor Jacobs Ask Them to Call Him, NO Transparency!

The Knox County Commission is in workshop session this afternoon. Mayor Glenn Jacobs breezed through his news about the furlough of County employees. As Compass Knox (subscription required) reported today, at Large Commissioner Justin Biggs is a casualty of his day job as a furloughed employee effective May 9. So, it is understandable why he didn’t ask any questions. On Saturday, #TheMegaBullhornofTruth posted several of the questions that I had heard about this furlough program, here.

The other 10 Commissioners sat silent, asking NO question about their constituents (who are county employees) that will be unemployed for 8 weeks or more.

Mayor Jacobs asked if any Commissioners had questions to call him. No public transparency on either the Mayor or Commission body.

Covid 19 has shown how unprepared both Mayor Jacobs and Mayor Kincannon are. Workers are being put out of work while both Mayors and their staffs still get paychecks. The wrong people are being laid off.

In other news, how does Recode look now after Covid 19? It looks pretty stupid doesn’t it? Apartments that share HVAC are like a cruise ship. One person gets sick, everybody gets sick. When you share the same air there is no social distance.
