Partisan Primary Participation Among the August 6, 2020 Primary Candidates

Today begins Early Voting for the August 6, 2020 Republican and Democrat Primaries for TN State House, Senate District 6 and the Federal Congressional and Senate races.

There has been much talk about bonafide Republicans and Democrats. The Republicans let Gina Oster’s opponent in because Tim Burchett, Richard Briggs and Glenn Jacobs vouched for him, the Democrats dropped Rep. John DeBerry from Memphis from the Democrat ballot. So, I examined all the local primary candidates voting records.

District 13 Republican Elaine Davis has been voting since 1996 and has cast 11 Republican primary ballots in addition to a lot of General ballots. Democrat Gloria Johnson voting record is from 2004 and has cast 13 Democrat primary ballots and a lot of General ballots.

District 14 Republican Jason Zachary has been voting since 1996, he has cast 11 Republican primary ballots, a bunch of General election ballots and a couple Town of Farragut ballots. Democrat Justin Davis been voting since 2004, has cast 7 Democrat primary ballots and a bunch of General election ballots.

District 15 Democrat Sam Mckenzie has been voting since 1990, has cast 32 Democrat primary ballots, 1 Republican ballot on 5/5/1992 along with General election ballots. New comer Democrat Matthew Park has voted 7 times since 2012, voted 1 Republican primary ballot and his first Democrat primary was on March 3, 2020. Rick Staples has ben voting since 1988, cast 13 Democrat primary ballots, 1 Republican ballot in 2012 along with General ballots.

District 16 Republican Patti Bounds has been voting since 1982, cast 24 Republican primary ballots, 2 Democrat primary ballots in 1982 and 1986 with a ton of General Election ballots. Republican Michele Carringer has been voting since 1988, has cast 33 Republican primary ballots and a lot of General election ballots. Democrat Elizabeth Rowland has been voting since 2006, cast 9 Democrat primary ballots along with some General Election ballots.

District 18, Republican candidate Cecil “Eddie” Mannis, Jr. has been voting since 1992, has cast 12 Republican primary ballots, 1 Democrat primary ballot on 2/25/2020 in the 3/3/2020 Presidential Preference Primary. Republican Gina Oster has also been voting since 1992, has cast double the number of Republican primary ballots as her primary opponent, 23 Republican primary ballots with a bunch of General Election ballots. Democrat Virginia Couch has been voting since 1992, has cast 6 Republican primary ballots and 4 Democrat primary ballots with General election ballots.

District 19 Republican David Wright has been voting since 1982 has case 32 Republican primary ballots and 1 Democrat primary ballot in 1986.

District 89 Republican Justin Lafferty has been voting since 1992, has cast 10 Republican primary ballots, 1 Democrat ballot in the 2008 Presidential Primary Preference Primary. Independent Greg Mills has been voting since 2010 and has cast 8 Republican primary ballots along with General Election ballots.

State Senate District 6 Democrat Sam Brown has been voting since 2019 and voted Democrat in the March 3, 2020 Democrat Presidential Preference Primary. Democrat Dr. Jane George been voting since 2016, has voted in 2 Democrat primaries. Republican Becky Duncan Massey record details voting since 1986, I counted 34 Republican primary ballots cast along with a ton of General election ballots.
