Farragut is Preparing and Planning to Give Archibald Roane Hundreds of Neighbors

Town of Farragut is preparing and planning to approve an apartment complex on the Biddle Farm, bordering Concord Road, South Campbell Station Road, Brooklawn Street and Kingston Pike.

A mixed use concept similar to Northshore Town Center at Pellissippi Parkway and Northshore Drive.

The title of this story mentions Archibald Roane. So, you ask who is Archibald Roane and what is his connection to Farragut. Roane was the second Governor of Tennessee, he is buried at Pleasant Forest Cemetery off of Concord Road.

Roane was a Revolutionary Soldier at Surrender of Cornwallis, he was a Member of the 1796 Constitutional Convention, he was a Superior Justice 1796 and a Supreme Judge 1819, He was Tennessee’s Second Governor 1801-1803. This monumental stone inside Pleasant Forest Cemetery was erected by the State of Tennessee in 1918.

In an unrelated development to Roane’s resting place. I am told that all the comments for the proposed apartment complex have been removed from the social network, Nextdoor, interesting that censorship is real.

    Mr. Hornback,
Thank you for giving residents a platform.
It is remarkable that in America today a group can organize to censor and “cancel” the voice of the Town Residents who’ve posted hundreds of comments and related images.
These powers literally removed virtually ALL the posts with views opposed to theirs and actually suspended my Nextdoor account so no more information can be posted.
This is censorship pure and simple and our Town deserves better.

It appears that Rich Crompton as a Nextdoor lead did the censoring. I believe that his posts on Nextdoor opposes and derided anyone either questioning or opposing the 280 apartment being built. Last night more and more residents were asking how do we stop this development from happening. Only Mr Crompton was consistently deriding and chiding those people. As the momentum to stop the project grew stronger, Mr. Crompton pushed the censorship button.
