Knox County Commission is Attempting to Change PUBLIC FORUM at the Commission Meetings

On October 8, 2020, Commissioners Larsen Jay and John Schoonmaker sun-shined a meeting, Commissioners Randy Smith and Kyle Ward attended and Carson Dailey called in. I posted a story here a video of part of the sunshine meeting discussion is here.

This Monday, Knox County Commission have three items on their agenda that are being presented from the Commissions Rules Committee. Two of the items deal with Public Forum.

Item 42 on the Commissions Agenda R-20-11-901;  Read the proposed changes directly from the Commission website, here. This will significantly change Public Forum, all the RED ink is the NEW Changes.

Item 43 on the Commissions Agenda R-20-11-902; Read the proposed changes directly from the Commission website, here. This change will designate the public forums to when you can speak. The first public forum at the BEGINNING of the meeting will be only for comments that are on the agenda for THAT MEETING. The second public forum at the END of the meeting is for any topic of interest that you would like to address to the Commission.

If Commission approves these changes, Knox County Mayor Glenn Jacobs could veto the changes according to the Knox County Law Director at this weeks Commission Work Session.
