The Saturday Word Of The Day

This morning I was spending some time in the office. I happened upon a scripture reference and I immediately grabbed the nearest Bible and re-read The Sermon on the Mount found in Matthew 5.

There is a verse that I hadn’t really noticed in Christ teaching on the Mount.

That is the Great thing about the Bible, you can find something new each time you read a certain passage. I have read the Sermon on the Mount hundreds if not thousands of times during my life. But today verse 11 jumped out.

(from the NIV) Matthew 5:11 “Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me.”
