Dan Davis Statement on 2021 Knoxville City Council Race

After much deliberation and consideration, it has become apparent that our campaign has no conceivable path forward. Therefore, I am announcing my withdrawal from the race for Knoxville City Council.
When this race began, I jumped in because Knoxville deserves a conservative, traditionally minded, pro-law and order voice to counter the radical, far left government under which the city currently suffers. I have been inspired by the response to our efforts, and by the average, everyday people who have chosen to help us.
Need we be reminded of how our nation was held hostage by the same forces which destroyed the lives of tens of millions under Lenin, Stalin, Mao, Castro, Pol Pot, and other merchants of death, all in the name of justice and equity? Need we be reminded of “peaceful protesters”, peacefully burning down cities and attempting to murder law enforcement officers in the streets of America, all while marching under the hammer and sickle?
The fight is not over, the philosophical war rages on. The battle is here. Knoxville is a little known, but key player in the broader conflict between the forces of American constitutionally ordered liberty  and a resurgent communism. It is a war between liberty and tyranny. Ultimately, it is a war between good and evil. To all my friends and everyone who has supported our campaign to save our city, my exhortation is a simple one. Do not give up, do not give in.

Debate in the political arena. Argue in the public square. Win hearts and minds. Save our city. Save our country.
