Knox County Merit System Council Meets

The Knox County Merit System Council for Sheriff’s Employees had their meeting this evening.

The crowd was sparse. KCSO HR Lisette Alves and KCSO Internal Affairs Greg Stinnette, as were two other uniformed officers. The two Merit System employees along with Merit System Executive Director Paula Taylor. Knox County Law Department Attorney Myers Morton, Merit Council members Gina Oster, Jim Jennings, Jim Wright, Jr and new Alternate member John Marshall. A Knox Focus reporter. Knox County Commissioner Courtney Durrett and myself rounded out those in attendance.

The Council elected Oster as Chair. Mr. Jennings asked about the status of an existing case. The next meeting was set.

I did find it interesting that Commission Chairman Larsen Jay who has FOUR proposed Ordinances about the Merit System and how he has proposed the Commission Chair have oversight of the Merit System Office Staff chose to no show for this evenings meeting.
