Jay is Out, But Why?

So back on April 19, 2021 Civil Right Violator Victor Ashe reported that it was unlikely County Commissioner Larsen Jay would seek another term as Commission Chair.

Today Jesse and Scott at Compass Knox reported definitively that he is not seeking a second term as Chair.

The real reason may never be known. However as an observer, I will give you my opinion. It would be difficult for him to run for re-election in the May 3, 2022 Republican Primary against Christine Cruz when he fails to be Chairman on a 2 Commissioners in favor and 9 Commissioners in opposition vote.

Jay ran an ad in a weekly publication today and the only Commissioner named to support his re-election is Terry Hill. That is more telling than anything.

Nearly every Commission Chair has gotten two terms. But NOT Jay. Of course as Chair, he had a temper tantrum when he tried to adjourn the meeting on his own, when no Commissioner would join him in adjourning the meeting, he had the live feed cut. As I texted multiple Commissioners they informed me they were still meeting, hearing from citizens.

Also, in my observation a more consensus building Chair  would be Richie Beeler. While I may not agree with everything Beeler does or this positions on matters. He would not rule the Commission meeting, he would allow Commissioners to speak and not attempt to drive his own self serving agenda.

Well, I reckon he’s seeing the writing on the wall. It would be embarrassing to seek a second Chair term when he will be defeated May 3. And he WILL be defeated. By Christine. And his plans to run for Kincannon’s position needs to be exposed now.

    Whoop, there it is.
