The Results are In……. City Council Movement Had a Bad Night

The three City Council Movement candidates were the three eliminated tonight in the Primary, Jen McMahon in the Fourth District, David Hayes in the First District and Deidra Harper in the Sixth District all came in third in their respective primaries. Harper really did the work and her not making the runoff may be the shocker.

So now on to November, here is the line-up card

District One Tommy Smith -vs- Elizabeth Murphy

District Two Andrew Roberto -vs- Kim Smith

District Three Seema Singh -vs- Nick Ciparro

District Four Lauren Rider -vs- Jim Klonaris

District Six Gwen McKenzie -vs- Garrett Holt

So, it is the incumbents versus the Scruffy City PAC. It would appear that the mailer that attacked Tommy Smith in the first district by the Knox County Republican Party probably got David Hayes a late surge as his numbers increased particularly on a rainy Hurricane Ida Election Day. The picture of the mailer that I saw only said do not vote for Tommy, the messaging should have directed them WHO TO VOTE FOR, in my humble opinion. However, I was not on the County Executive Committee when that mailer was discussed and voted on.

I am sure the Knox County Democrat Party will contrast and compare the 2017 votes by Conservative leaning candidates and the votes cast in 2021 and I am sure they will have some partisan fodder, the Republican fodder will continue so until November 2, 2021 there will be lots of fodder for everyone.

Thanks to Jim Klonaris for pushing his message in the Primary here on #TheMegaBullhornofTruth
