Mayor Glenn Jacobs Statement on KCSO and the Knox County Law Departments Attempt to Seek Immunity

From this story yesterday of the Knox County Sheriffs Office and Knox County Law Department seeking immunity from property damage created by a Knox Sheriffs Officer. I asked Knox County Mayor Glenn Jacobs for a comment as he is the primary fiduciary agent (in charge of the money for those in lower Vonore) Mayor Jacobs said,

“I’m not a fan of the doctrine of sovereign immunity which is based on the idea that the government can do no wrong. Accidents do happen and if we are at fault we need to make people whole, not hide behind some archaic legal construct.”
