“Black Wednesday” Knox County Commissioner Reappointed to Utility Board

The Knox County Commission next week will receive a spread of record that Knox County Mayor Glenn Jacobs has reappointed Jack Huddleston to the Blaine, Luttrell, Corryton Utility Board.

Huddleston is a January 31, 2007 appointed “Black Wednesday” Knox County Commissioner for the Eighth District. He did not run for the position when it was time for election, instead now State Rep. David Wright ran and was elected by the people.

In a web search, it records Huddleston as a utility board member back to 2018. if that is accurate, this could likely be a third term. There was much discussion when Kevin Julian was reappointed to the Hallsdale Powell Utility Board about the term limit provision in Knox County Charter.

There are several utilities in Knox County with board members appointed by the County Mayor. It maybe a good time to get the list of all board members and their intoal appointment and service.

I am sure Mayor Jacobs is not aware of individuals like Huddleston and 2007, if begs to question, what role is Dwight Van de Vate doing for the Mayor if not advising him of him of the big picture?
