Dr. John Avant Will Lead First Baptist Concord

Last January, Dr. Doug Sager announced that he would be stepping down as Sr. Pastor of First Baptist Church Concord in Farragut, TN. Sager has served as Sr. Pastor for 20 years.
The church selected a Sr. Pastor Search Committee and after about 10 months of prayer and work they brought and presented Dr. John Avant and his wife Donna to the church. Dr. Avant has served the congregation of West Monroe, LA for the past six years.
After delivering the two Sunday messages yesterday (9 am and 10:30 am) he was called by a vote of the congregation by an affirmative vote of 99.2%. He accepted the call and on February 11,, 2013 will begin as the Sr. Pastor of First Baptist Concord.
Although not a member, I hope he attracts more people to the church and brings more people to Christ in the area.
