Maybe Mayor Rogero will look around there at the Amazon warehouse, perhaps look across the street at the Volkswagon assembly plant, employing thousands there, perhaps go ahead and take a quick run downtown to see what a community can do to their downtown if they encourage private investment rather than tried and trodden down government investment in downtown environments.

If we’re lucky, Mayor Rogero will see how successful the Chattanooga Chamber of Commerce is (it runs on about a third of the budget of the Knoxville Chamber of Commerce) and come back to Knoxville and start cleaning house and getting rid of the dead wood over there at the Chamber to get somebody on the payroll that is not a political hack and can actually recruit and relocate business, industry, and decent paying jobs (as opposed to another 100 call center jobs) to the Knoxville community.

Yup, Knox County “rejected” Obama. But he carried the City of Knoxville – twice.

So maybe not too weird for the Mayor of Knoxville to go see him.
