Knoxville City Council Expected to Delay Northshore Town Centre Apartments

The Council of West Knox County Homeowners have alerted homeowners NOT to attend the September 3 City Council Meeting. Councilman Duane Grieve has met with representatives of the developer of the proposed apartments and is requesting a delay.

Duane (Grieve) stated that as a result of no significant change in the proposed apartments, the vote on the rezoning will be postponed for 4 weeks. He announced the postponement at the Council workshop. He said there is no chance the vote will take place on Sept. 3 and that there is no reason we need to be present Tuesday evening. At this point, the developer is in agreement to a postponement.

The next meeting will be an MPC (Metropolitan Planning Commission) on September 12. The MPC will be presented with the proposed plan.

The area neighborhoods are trying to schedule another community meeting, this time with the developer. We will keep you posted. Here is our previous coverage of the issue.
