The sports guy over at Straight from the Heart, WBIR is leaving according to a story in today’s sports section of the product produced by the Big Metal Shed on the Hill. He is going to a local sports talk radio format. It isn’t with the local favorites of Tony Basilio, the Sports Animal or with “The Drive” or “Tennessee Prep Weekly” on WKVL.

There is more to the story there than him merely pursuing a better opportunity. Seriously? BIR has three people at the sports desk now, Philipps was the sports director. Hot chick that is going to do FOX Sidelines during football season and main man Terry Brooks. Hot chick will be back after football season. Philipps will not Nobody goes from television to radio. It is what it is, but we do wish him well and hope that he continues to report the good,the bad, the ups and the downs of all this UT Sports related.
