2014 Knox County Commission Races!

In 2014, there are only four of the eleven commission seats up for election.

The #10 seat (one of the at large seats) is currently occupied by Mike Hammond. He has said that he will not be a candidate for commission and the thought among nearly everyone is that he may challenge Joy McCroskey, the Criminal Court Clerk. A professional business approach to the Criminal Court Clerk is desperately needed right now.

Radio guy Bob Thomas has already announced for the #10 seat.

The #11 seat (the other at large seat) is currently held by Ed Shouse. It was believed that he would be a challenger to Craig Leuthold, the interim Trustee. Now there has been some doubt that he will challenge Leuthold. If he stays and runs for reelection. He could be facing Former Commissioner and Conservative Michelle Carringer, who has announced for a countywide seat.

The Seventh District seat currently held by Commission Vice Chairman R Larry Smith is on the ballot. Smith is term limited and is considering other options for 2014. Powell Community Activist Bo Bennett has already announced and is campaigning. There are a couple individuals that have been rumored to be considering a 2014 run. Former County Commissioner Scott Moore and Former Knox County Clerk employee Rodney Lane.

The Third District seat currently held by Commissioner and Former Chairman Tony Norman. Norman is term limited and appears to be enjoying the prospect of becoming a Former Elected Official on August 31, 2014 at 11:59:59 p.m. The only name that has surfaced is Former City School Board Member, Former City Councilman, Former County Commissioner, Former Republican State Executive Committeeman, Former two time Knoxville Mayoral candidate Ivan Harmon. I have heard that Former State Representative candidate Bo Pierce name mentioned. However, I am unaware if he lives in the Third District.

    Elmer’s Picks for 2014

Folks that donate here is my prediction for 2014

    Mayor
Tim Burchett only logical choice so Phil don’t go buying bologna anytime soon this kid has it wrapped up tighter than a pig in a blanket.

    Register of Deeds
Sherry Witt, so Larry don’t even waste your time with this one, besides she’s pretty and god only knows we have had enough of you.

    Sheriff
JJ, he has all the training needed and what he doesn’t know would never occur in this one horse town.

    Sessions Court
Cathy Quist, the gal has that office running better than a Buick on high test. Never did get to wish her congrats on ol Shanks you better be good to her she is sweeter than sour wood honey.

    Criminal Court
I gotta give you a reason why I have to make this decission. There is nothing I hate worse than seeing a sow sucking on a tit past milking time. That old crabby sow is past her prime. She is meaner than a dog shitting tacks. That gal just makes my blood boil. She is good for nothing and would but her brother under the wheels of the bus and drive over him before she would take the blame. Look carefully at this one folks a she has ridden the coat take of Martha too damn long. Hammond is the only choice that I see. If he brings new eyes on this office and promises to do better then he has my vote. Mikey sharpen up your pencil as the old bitty is from the school of denial.

    Trustee
Ed make up your mind, good head on your shoulders you can finally clean this office up one and for all.

    Commission
Don’t think it’s time to say on this one. Heard a rumor of another candidate folks this 7th district is gonna be a golly whopper of a race. Stay tuned.

    Elmer:

Just wanted you to know I enjoy a man who isn’t afraid tell you like it is. I live only part time in Knoxville as I retired from the City/County Building a few years ago. This Joy Mc”CROCK”skey is right on the money. She is an old bitty from way back, as she was Martha’s “hinch girl” what got out of control. I knew Martha when she lived on Linden Avenue during 1950’s, every time the lights went out Martha would slip outside for a smoke. I agree that Joy needs to retire and let someone have the reigns. She is hanging onto that last bit of county money as long as she can. Elmer keep up and hammer down on this one, don’t give up, the entire building loves your comments. In fact you could write your own column for the paper if you wanted. I still vote so thanks for your advise.

      Ford Man…
I appreciate the kind words, as a former employee of that failing empire you know exactly where I am coming from. Joy and her “Paper Boy” will plaster her fat face on the front of the paper until he pulls out from a looser. The “Paper Boy” will be realize this old cranky has been can’t tell fact from fiction. The “Paper Boy” likes to support a winner and this old bitty has lost before she even picks up her running papers. I went to the Bologna festival and the buzzing about the upcoming story is right smack dab in front of everyones face. This Lulu Hogg of the Criminal Court will look like a stark raving idiot by her own admissions. What story are you going to tell now Lulu? The damage is done and you can’t convince me or anyone else you know how to run an office? Lulu your going to be so busy defending lawsuits you won’t have enough time to campaign, granted there coming as you have ruffled feathers better left alone. “Paper Boy” listen close to the old man. Your just about at the end of the rope of candidates, clocks are ticking and no one can wind up anyone just in time for the election. So much has went on that these crooks are now making you look foolish. Your Brother sang the lyrics “Oh Girl” take warning to this Old Girl, she will make you look like a fool. Remember the song”Only the Strong Survive”, the old man has been around the block a time or two.
