Greg McMillan’s Campaign Announces it Surpassed Early Fundraising Goal

On the heels of releasing its first campaign spot, Greg McMillan’s campaign today announced it had surpassed its fundraising goal for the end-of-year financial disclosure report.

“We have seen tremendous support from the community,” said Mike King, Treasurer for the McMillan campaign. “We couldn’t be more pleased about the amount of early support Greg has, and we believe that as the people of Knox County learn more about Greg, they will see he is the right choice for the 4th Circuit Court.”

The McMillan campaign reported raising over $16,500, including in-kind contributions, in its first campaign financial disclosure. Almost half of all donations raised by the campaign came from contributions of $100 or less.

Greg brings extensive legal experience to the 4th Circuit Court race. He currently serves as special counsel with the law firm, Lewis Thomason King, Krieg & Waldrop, P.C., formerly known as Lewis King Krieg & Waldrop, P.C., practicing primarily in domestic relations and mediation. Greg is licensed to practice in Tennessee and admitted to the Federal District Court for the Eastern District of Tennessee as well as the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals.

Greg is a member of the Knoxville, Tennessee and American Bar Associations. He served as Chair of the Tennessee Bar Association Family Law Section from 1999-2001, was awarded the Tennessee Bar Association Young Lawyers Division President’s Distinguished Service Award, served two terms on the Knoxville Bar Association’s Board of Governors for 2002-2004 and 2008-10, and in 2010 was awarded the Knoxville Bar Association’s President’s Award.

“I’m running because I believe that when families come before the 4th Circuit Court, cases should move more efficiently than they have in the past,” said McMillan. “The process needs to be streamlined; judges should follow the law with great compassion and responsiveness, so as not to put further hardship on Knox County families.”
