Leuthold Has a Bit of a Glass Jaw

Edit: I inaccurately reported the number Hawkins reported he could work with. It has been corrected. See how easy that is with a phone call versus a Democrat lawyer threat.

At the last Center City Republican Club, Barry Hawkins explained how over staffed County Commission appointed Interim Trustee Craig Leuthold has maintained the Knox County Trustee Office compared to Nashville/Davidson County and Hamilton County. When Leuthold’s time came he said Barry is wrong and he should get his facts straight.

This evening at the Concord Farragut Republican Club meeting Hawkins again stated the overstaffed situation of Knox County Trustees office. Again, Craig the son of Former Commissioner and Current Treasurer of Richard Briggs State Senate Campaign is reported to say Barry needs to quit saying that. Hawkins reportedly said oh yes there are and this is what is in Davidson County. Leuthold attempted to justify the over staffing with satellite offices.

Hawkins has spent 17 years in the Trustee’s office, before venturing out into the private sector dealing with real estate. Leuthold spent time in the Trustee office before joining embattled Property Assessor Phillip Ballard. Then securing the nomination of Richard Briggs and a slim majority of the County Commission to obtain the Interim Trustee position. It seems that Leuthold believes that people will take him at his word. However, he should remember he was a Black Wednesday Commissioner that put his own father in a seat, voted in a Trustee that gave Leuthold a promotion and raise and is now the interim Trustee because of his dad’s Treasurer status for Richard Briggs. There is a lot of questionable ethical clouds following Leuthold and when his glass jaw cracks with comparison to other similar counties, he really needs to consider the private sector or a job where he can sit and stare into space or read a novel.

Ed Shouse is also a Republican candidate for Trustee.

This is obviously a hit piece. Overstaffing in the Knox County offices…impossible; would never happen. Leuthold for President. LOL
