Foster Arnett, Jr Request County Commission to Grant a NEW tax

Knox County Clerk Foster Arnett, Jr. stood before the Knox County Commission today asking for approval of a solicitor id fee (aka tax) Arnett proposes a $55 per month ($660 a year) tax on any person (NOT COMPANY, EACH SALES PERSON) that solicits door to door. Cable, grass and lawn service, newspaper, magazine, insurance etc. You name it, Arnett wants to tax it.

Arnett acknowledged today that the Sheriffs Department background check is a one time $10 fee. But Arnett wants to clear $45 the first month and $55 a month every month thereafter. Have you been to the Clerk’s office recently? The wait is already 45 minutes or more without a solicitors id line.

Is this an indication that Arnett doesn’t have the Clerks financial house in order? Has he over extended his fee office with the relocation of the East Town Mall satellite office to a former high scale jewelry store, with the extensive renovation many video cameras were installed. A minimum of one camera for at least every employee has been installed.

When Commissioners Mike Brown and Robert Lawrence Smith began vetting this tax with questions of Arnett and that the tax was clearly losing the grease on the tracks. Commission Chairman Brad Anders moved to defer action until June.

If you do not think a NEW $660 Knox County tax is appropriate on the backs of entrepreneurial blue collar or student then contact your County Commissioners and demand they reject the Arnett tax.

Now that’s took some thinking to come up with this one, and as far fetched as it sounds will eventually pass. That is IF Foster gets re-elected… Hells bells people whats tax is next? I propose we pass a tax on idiots in Knox County government based upon the pound. I would bet the farm a bunch of weight would be lost quick, based upon the idiots we have in public office. I can see it now “Citizens Arrest, Citizens Arrest” that goomer hadn’t paid his solicitation tax!!!! I am sure this tax would apply to the prostitution folks too, slap a decal right on their rump. Good grief sister Agnes we have flaming idiots running this town. It’s way past the point of stupid.

People Knox County has been collecting a wheel tax to build a new justice center for years, the county acquired the property and its now up for sale. Where in tarnation is this money going now, yeap you guessed it not for a justice center. When the Old Courthouse finally buckles and the termites finish off the last bit of wood, a loud crashing sound will be heard, from the rubble you will hear, “lets build a new justice center”. I am over this tax crap, who was the hair brain that invented the parking lot tax? Storm water is going to eventually get to the river no matter what path engineering takes, get rid of these clowns before we all have a bar code on our ass.

Good grief, bring out the inmates, strap a lawn mower to them and make them cut grass, pick up trash, sing a song or something, this town is going to hell in a hand basket with these clowns driving the short bus.

Went to that jewelry store to get my handicap placard and waited 20 minutes on some stooge to click a few buttons and take my money, I have had constrained bowel movements that was shorter than my wait there. Foster who plays musical chairs was no where in sight. From where I am coming from you know where I am throwing my support, right smack dab to Padgett. Olive Oil and Sweet Pea could have done a better job. People get out and vote, when your pocket book is drained dry its your own damn fault. These clowns would no sooner pass a tax to require wheelchairs have a license plates. Sounds far fetched but who would have thought a tax on parking lot storm water run-off? I am telling you now this one horse town is headed to a depression, no one wants to move here, build here or open a business. TOOOOOO MUCH TAX!!!!
