Been thinking a lot about KUB (Knoxville Utilities Board). I have reported on the fiasco of fiber internet, back on April 23, 2024 here with KUB Who is paying? On April 27, 2024 here with KUB Fiber, Electric, Water, Sewer & Gas On December 19, 2024 here with KUB Fiber, One Epic Failure?! On March 10, 2025 here with KUB Fiber – Why Doesn’t KUB Tell The Rest of the Story? Only to name four stories.
Of course this is not new for this 21 year old #CitizenInformer #InternetBlogger cause back more than a decade ago before the current regime at KUB or The Big Metal Shed on Hill, I did a deep dive here on February 15, 2015 with How Much of Your KUB Rates Should Pay For Influence Peddling?
Remember, this #CitizenInformer #InternetBlogger is a part-time (night time, weekend operator) I send record requests after hours, respond after hours which takes longer than employees of JChristopher at The Big Metal Shed on the Hill.
My current thought is these YUGE utility bills people have gotten this winter, they are having to decide between groceries and utilities. BUT WAIT, KUB has been collecting your “round up” bills to help pay for those folks utility bills. Do they offer that assistance to people with YUGE utility bills? When people call to pay a portion of the bill but not all of the utility bill, because it is the difference between food for them or for the animals that are the peoples companions. Do the Customer Service operators say, We have Project Help? I don’t know the answer, but I think it is time to check. While the Executives have nice salaries. I think it is time to do a deep dive into Project Help.
Of course The Big Metal Shed on the Hill does not investigate Project Help or on any entity that spends “ad money”. Right? Right?
KUB spends money on advertising! Why? I mean it is a legitimate question, they are the exclusive provider of electric, water, sewer and gas based on where the residence is located. BUT not your fiber, buy advertising for any and or all with JChristopher at The Big Metal Shed on the Hill and he won’t print any or all of “investigative” stories by of the investigators at the Shed on any/all of the advertisers?
