There is an article in today’s USA Today that says that an IRS defense was made to a Congressional committee that tea party was a generic term for any group that may use political activity. Generic like Kleenex or Coke. I am shocked it took them this long to try this defense. But I doubt that the liberal groups would want to be associated as a generic tea party.
